The Songwriting Competition is a yearly event held at the Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds. In 2023 the Competition will have four heats, where five artists will be judged by a panel on their song writing abilities. There will be one winner from each heat. The winners will go through to the final for a chance to win a bounty of prizes, including a headlining slot at next years event. The heats will be free entry and the competition final tickets costing £5.

ENTRY CRITERIA FOR THE SONGWRITING COMPETITION 2023
To enter the Songwriting Competition you must fit the following criteria:
- Be a solo artist or duo (two people maximum on stage, including instrument musicians)
- Reside in East Anglia
- Have four or more songs you can perform live
- Songs must be written by one or both of the artists performing them
- Can provide written lyrics for four or more of your songs
